We strive to provide consistency and stability in the lives of the children we serve. Because they are often deeply impacted by the comings and goings of people in their lives, we generally do not offer in-person volunteer opportunities to outside volunteers.
Since our co-founders were Fulbright English Teaching Assistants (ETAs), we’ve maintained a long-standing relationship with Fulbright Korea and the Korean-American Educational Commission (KAEC). Because of this trust, in-person volunteer opportunities are typically only offered to Fulbright grantees, who undergo rigorous training, government background checks, and a competitive application process as part of their program.
Being able to work closely with KKOOM and the children’s homes it partners with was an absolute honor and privilege. To be surrounded by so many passionate and caring individuals is a rarity. I’m just glad I got the chance to do this work alongside the amazing people who started it (and continued it throughout the years).
While we began with Fulbright volunteers organizing our holiday parties, we’ve expanded opportunities in recent years. While not an exhaustive list, here are a few ways U.S. Fulbright ETAs can get involved. Please note, opportunities might change from year-to-year based on organizational needs and capacity.

While we don’t have in-person volunteer opportunities, we welcome support from individuals with specialized skills, such as grant writing, translation, photography, videography, or unique resources and connections. If you’re interested in helping, please reach out with details, and we’ll explore whether there’s a good fit.
“Working with KKOOM broadened my perspective and allowed me to gain a better understanding of the lives of underprivileged children in South Korea.
It enabled me to become a more empathetic individual and develop increased awareness on how seemingly trivial things may impact people based on their backgrounds and experiences—especially young children.”
