Homes are filled with the smell of tteokguk (\ub5a1\uad6d), a traditional Korean soup made with sliced rice cakes in a savory broth. Elders offer blessings, and children bow to show respect to their elders as the year begins with gratitude and hope.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, for many of the youth we serve through Seollal can look very different. Celebrated in January or February, it has roots stretching back more than 2,000 years.
